What are the benefits of Teflon coated frothing jugs?

Teflon s a brand name commonly associated with PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene), a synthetic fluoropolymer known for being highly non-stick, chemically resistant and able to withstand relatively high temperatures.

The coating provides several benefits:

Easier to clean - milk residue is less likely to adhere firmly to the Teflon coating, making the jug easier to rinse and clean after use.

Minimises Milk Build-Up - regular milk steaming can leave baked-on or dried milk deposits inside a pitcher. A non-stick coating will minimise the build-up of such deposits.

Heat-resistance - PTFE coatings are designed for high-temperature applications. However, the manufacturer's temperature and care instructions should always be followed, particularly when using the jug directly with a steam wand or other heating equipment.

Please note that abrasive materials should not be used when cleaning Teflon coated jugs. Aggressive scouring can damage the surface of the items.
