What is a moka pot?

Also known as an espresso pot, a moka pot is is a stove top coffee maker. It delivers strong coffee similar to espresso using the pressure of steam to push water through coffee grounds. A moka pot features a lower chamber for water, a metal filter and an upper chamber that collects the brewed coffee. When placed on a stove, the water in the lower chamber heats up and steam is produced. This forces water upwards, extracting coffee into the upper chamber of the pot.
